Hi, hi!

First of all sorry that I put this topic into this forum, but mayby some of you simulators could help and consult me. So:

Did anyone of you ever bother with the simulation of valves? Browsing though common literature I mostly find consrevation of momentum in to sorts: Either it's WITH STORAGE of momentum, so that closing a valve would cause shock waves against the former flow direction... very welcome blink.gif or WITHOUT STORAGE of momentum. The latter means, that the measured pressure drop directly equals the pressure loss due to friction - otherwise there would by further terms. This second and much easier alternative seems to me quite far from reality but the first seems quite complicated.

So is there anybody among you, who has got some precious experience with this topic already?

Okay, but I prefer avoiding such shocks. That's too nasty for my purposes, really.

Did anyone simlulate valves that totally stop the flow? How did you model that seeing that these a conservation of momentum

to be fulfulled?
