Hello everyone!

I am absolutely new to Modelica and have some questions. I'm doing my thesis and have to design a controller for a power system consisting of an exhaust turbine, a gear and a synchronous generator. First, I have to simulate the system and to analyze its behaviour.

The reason for me for unsing Modelica are the free libraries wit ready models for thermodynamics, mechanics and power systems. As my thesis refers to a real system it is very important for the simulation model to be very close in its behaviour to the real system . I'd like to ask modelica experts if it is possible with OpenModelica and libraries and SimForge to build a reliable system model and design a controller. How long can it take to get started with Modelica and SimForge? How difficult is the use of the libraries?

Many thanks for the help!
